Congressional Hearing Examining FEMA’s Role in Procuring and Distributing Pandemic Supplies

(WASHINGTON) – Today, Tuesday, July 14th, the Committee on Homeland Security will hold a virtual joint subcommittee hearing on FEMA’s role in leading the procurement and distribution of pandemic supplies, such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical medical equipment, in response to COVID-19.

The joint hearing will be an opportunity for Members of the Oversight, Management, & Accountability Subcommittee, Chaired by Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM), and the Emergency Preparedness, Response, & Recovery Subcommittee, Chaired by Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. (D-NJ), to ask expert witnesses about continued challenges and delays in securing pandemic supplies, and how the Federal government and states can better coordinate the procurement of adequate supplies to ensure America is equipped to combat COVID-19 and future pandemics.
